Drips

With these pieces of work i was inspired by Silvia Pelissero. After being fascinated with the use of her blank ink, i tried to try it myself. As i was being obsessed with using glue lately, what i did was put acrylic paint into the glue and use the same technique i did for the other pieces such as the one with cardboard, however instead i used brown paper. I flicked the glue onto the page and let it drip. After doing this i realized that i was getting off track from my project, how lines can be formed differently and displayed in a set limit of space. I was concerned that the flicked/ dripped lines itself on the brown paper would not be considered lines. So after worrying about this i dripped purple lines from the top and let it slide down the page. This was indeed a very messy experiment i did.







I began grow fond of using ink after doing the piece above, and experimented more. I tried to change it a bit more and used colour paper yellow and green. This one to the left is the original photo. The other photo below is touched up version and so is the green one as well.

Line Drips on Cardboard

What i did here was i got a long piece of card board and stuck to the wall. I dripped glue onto it and let it dry up. This photo was how it looked from the beginning before i added more different lines on top, however this did not succeed. What i did was put more layers of ink lines and then big black strokes. But to my perspective it did turn out nor look well. I was also curious on how the dripping of the glue would be on the cardboard. I thought it would have looked alot stronger and darker but after all this was only an experiment. The task was to show how lines can
be formed on a specific media (cardboard) and space ( the length of the cardboard).

This is just a closer look of the cardboard. As you can see the dripping of the glue is more noticable

 Silvia Pelissero's work i find was a but similar to the previous post i did of the glue drips. I find her work very beautiful and interesting. By the same form of lines i did, she was able to in this case form a face. Even though her work does not entirely relate to my theme on lines, there is still the connection of the same lines used. The two bottom ones below, however do not have any connection but i find are very beautiful.
   

Swirley glue lines

For these two pieces, what i did was get glue and drip/swirl them around on a black piece of paper. I quickly took photos before the glue dried up. I had first started off with swirley round lines in the middle (this is clearly shown in the picture below), but decided to drag the line across the whole page. These lines were not forced and the brush was not touching the actual page, instead it was dripping on it.





This piece at the bottom is the exact same as the one above but was touched up and turned into blue.

Shadow lines from nature

Even though this may be look random, or that i am as once said overly obsessive ( which i was), i began to see lines everywhere. I began to look at lines in nature. As seen in this little twig, i was aiming to show the shadow from the wood and leaves. I also looked the lines in the leaves as they spread out from the center line.I know for sure this was a wrong path to follow so i moved away from nature lines.

Uncontrolable lines to Strict Lines

 The piece to the left is dried up glue dripped on a brown piece of paper. The dried up effect of the glue is another form of making lines. I very much like this piece because the lines were not forced.

However even though this piece at the bottom is done in the same way it is however different. These lines were drawn on a cling foil and were forced. I dislike this piece because i find it unattractive. The only purpose of this was to try drawing different lines on different media.

Blobs to Lines

With a vase filled with glue mixed with black acyrlic, i used it on grey paper and flicked it on the page. The idea of doing this was to see how the glue would form by just waving my arm in a certain way. I think this piece connects to my project because i start off with a blob on a page and then i worked it into various lines.

This is same copy of the photo above however it is touched up. I have given it a green effect in order to make it more interesting and have the black line stand out more.












This Bottom paper was done in my sketchbook. I used cooking paper, and did the exact same method as i did to the ones above but made it more in a zig zag motion. Personally i think that this bottom piece strongly relates to my project because it is more defined as a proper line. Even though it has many blobs, there is still a connection from one blob to another,this is what make it a line.
